Dara Marias is a life-long Nevadan and proud graduate of Chaparral High School. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service graduating summa cum laude from Georgetown University. She then received her Juris Doctor and a Master of Social Work—Families and Children from the University of Southern California who awarded her its Distinguished Student Prize. After the birth of her children, Molly and Adam, Dara established a part-time law practice from home. Wanting to involve her children in community service from a young age, Dara dedicated herself to providing community advocacy education through service-learning clubs at her children’s elementary and high schools that taught leadership, social-emotional skills, and also engage children in monthly volunteer experiences. Based on her passion to empower children to serve, Dara co-wrote two service-learning curricula: Inspiring Community Advocates (Grades 3-5) and Inspiring Community Advocates-Leaders (High School) and now serves as the C.O.O. of EduGiveKids.
